Residents of Batken’s border village complaining on lack of electricity
Residents of the village of Joldoshbay Momunov, Kara-Bak rural municipality, Batken region are complaining on the lack of electricity.
Locals say they cook meals on the fire, use candles at nights. Due to the lack of fridges, food products spoil quickly.
The village received the status of village in 2023. Today there are 5 streets in the village, including two streets are connected to electricity.
Deputy head of Batken district Taalaibek Ibraimov told that 1.5 million soms were allocated from the development fund for high-voltage transmission lines.
Local authorities carried out works and stretched high-voltage transmission lines. According to the agreements, according to Ibraimov, the cables should have been purchased by locals. If they purchase cables, employees of the district power grids will stretch them and connect to the electricity.
