The Sunview Group, a Malaysian renewable energy company, is set to expand its operations into Uzbekistan with the implementation of solar energy projects as per Dunyo. The initiative follows a recent visit by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Karomiddin Gadoev, to Sunview’s solar photoelectric power plant located in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat, Selangor.

During the visit, Ambassador Gadoev met with John Steed, the project manager at Sunview Group, who provided an overview of the company’s solar photovoltaic plant. The facility, which covers 32 hectares, was completed in July 2024 and has a total capacity of 26 MW, contributing electricity to the public grid.

In July, Sunview Group signed a significant agreement with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy to establish initial conditions for constructing two solar power plants in the country. This collaboration marks a crucial step towards enhancing Uzbekistan’s renewable energy capacity.

Steed expressed eagerness to commence the installation of solar panels in public facilities and government offices in partnership with “Yashil Energiya” (Green Energy), an affiliate under the Ministry of Energy. He also indicated plans to assess the feasibility of supplying water pumping stations in the Kashkadarya region with renewable energy sources.

Founded in 2013, Sunview Group specializes in providing design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance solutions in the renewable energy sector. The company has successfully launched solar photovoltaic power plants with a combined capacity exceeding 500 MW, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable energy development.

The efforts by Sunview Group are aligned with Uzbekistan’s goals to diversify its energy sources and increase the share of renewable energy in its overall energy mix.
