Tajikistan allocates 170 quotas for overseas study through the presidential scholarship

In 2025, Tajikistan will allocate around 170 quotas for studying at leading universities worldwide under the Presidential Scholarship "Durakhshandagon," Tojiddin Bahriddin, Deputy Director of the Republic's Center for International Programs, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

He noted that the scholarship program is highly popular among Tajik youth.

"Each year, the number of applicants interested in the program grows.  For instance, in 2022, 73 quotas were allocated, increasing to 94 in 2023, and reaching 130 quotas in 2024,” Tojiddin Bahriddin said, reminding that the application process for the program began on October 1, 2024.

The Center for International Programs in Tajikistan actively collaborates with over 40 universities worldwide, including leading institutions in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, the USA, and European countries.  Currently, Tajik students are studying abroad in 42 countries.

As previously reported, over the past five years, 71 Tajik students have completed their education under the "Durakhshandagon" program.  All of them returned to their homeland and are successfully working in various public and private institutions.

The "Durakhshandagon" scholarship is a personal program awarded annually by the Republican Commission for Training Personnel Abroad.  It aims to support and develop the talented youth of Tajikistan. The program covers various levels of education, from bachelor's to doctoral studies.
