21 accidents occur at energy sector enterprises in 2024, 8 people die
21 accidents and injuries occurred at the energy sector enterprises in 2024, Director of the Energy Supervision Service Ergesh Karimov reported at the board meeting of the Ministry of Energy on February 26.
6 employees of OJSC National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan (JSC NESK), 1 employee of JSC Kyrgyztelecom and 1 employee of MP Bishkek Water Canal died as a result of accidents. 13 people received various injuries.
Karimov said that the main causes of accidents are the failure of management to take preventive measures, arbitrary actions of employees, and uncoordinated actions of local residents with the personnel of the district electric grids.
The accidents happened at the Nikolaevka substation in Issyk-Kul region, at the Tokmok hydroelectric power station in Chui region, at the control room of Karakol, and in Issyk-Kul region, Karimov stated.
According to the Energy Supervision Service, 7 accidents were registered at the energy sector enterprises in 2023, of which 4 resulted in the death of employees.
