China's Da Fu launches $2mn metalworking plant in Uzbekistan

The opening ceremony was attended by Zoir Mirzayev, the khokim (mayor) of the region, who emphasized the plant’s role in enhancing local employment and industrial capacity. Constructed by the Chinese company Da Fu with an investment of approximately $2mn, the plant has created 25 new jobs.

The plant has a production capacity of 500 tons of metal structures annually, valued at UZS 15bn ($1.2mn). Additionally, the facility has the resources to produce an extra 400 tons of products, including those intended for export. This indicates the plant’s potential in meeting both domestic and international demand.

The Tashkent regional khokimiyat has plans to attract a total of $50.7mn in foreign direct investment and loans by the end of the year. This capital influx is expected to support further economic growth and industrial development in the region.

In a related development, Limaomaoli Metal Company, founded by a Chinese citizen, has begun constructing an iron ore mining complex in the Parkent district. This project involves an initial investment of $50mn to produce 1mn tons of iron ore concentrate annually.
