A Chinese company is set to establish an education and vocational training center in Uzbekistan, according to Dunyo news agency.
With the support of Uzbekistan’s Consulate General, an online meeting was held between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Migration Agency, and the Chinese company JC Finance Interconnect Holdings.
Discussions focused on developing retraining and advanced training programs aligned with international standards for specialists in Uzbekistan. Key fields include green energy, agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), and tourism.
The parties also explored the possibility of allocating grants for Uzbek students at leading Chinese universities and selecting candidates for these opportunities. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached for representatives of JC Finance Interconnect Holdings to visit Uzbekistan.
During the visit, meetings with relevant ministries and departments will be held to facilitate the establishment of the education and vocational training center.
In January 2025, China remained Uzbekistan’s largest trade partner, accounting for $994.7mn (22.1% of total trade). While this figure is lower than the $1.14bn recorded in January 2024, it remains significantly higher than the $549.3mn reported in 2023.
