Education Minister suggests using social facilities for teaching children

Local authorities should consider issue of shortage of schools, especially in Bishkek, Education and Science Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva stated.

“They should give us the opportunity to use empty social facilities for three years. For example, city libraries. Children will study for three hours. They should study, play and develop. We are considering different options,” she said.

Speaking about the reform of the education system, the Minister said that no decisive steps were taken after negative results of the global education quality study. She added that the current authorities see that the country’s development depends on high-quality personnel.

According to the Minister, some private schools teach and issue a certificate of 12-year education.
