The final bouts of the Paris-2024 Olympic boxing matches ended as Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov faced Ayoub Ghadfa from Spain. Jalolov won, securing another gold medal for his country, and announced his retirement from amateur boxing after the match.
The two-time Olympic champion declared his move from amateur to professional boxing, leaving his gear in the ring as a symbol of the transition.
“Insha’Allah, I will become the absolute world champion in professional boxing and I will justify everyone’s trust,” Jalolov said.
Jalolov has competed in three Olympic Games, winning gold in Japan and France. His success at the Paris Olympics helped Uzbekistan’s boxing team win five gold medals, earning them the top spot in the sport.
