This is one of 16 energy facilities that are being built with the assistance of the fund. Some have already been put into operation; four hydroelectric power stations are expected to be launched this year. Total planned capacity — 600 million kilowatt-hours annually.

The project is funded by the RKFR as part of a strategy to strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s energy independence and increase capacity to meet growing demand from the population and business.

The station on the Shamshy River with a capacity of 1.7 MW will annually generate about 10 million kilowatt-hours, which will cover 10 percent of the annual electricity consumption of the Chuisky district.

«The construction of small hydroelectric power plants is the foundation that allows us to solve the tasks set by President Sadyr Japarov for energy development in Kyrgyzstan. RKFR remains a reliable partner and investor in the energy sector. We will continue to implement the tasks and plans set by the Cabinet of Ministers and the country’s leadership», — emphasized Artem Novikov, Chairman of the Board of the RKFR.
