Startup Garage, Uzbekistan’s largest venture studio, has officially expanded into North Africa by opening a new venture studio in Casablanca, Morocco. This marks the first Central Asian venture studio to establish a presence in North Africa, creating new opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs in both regions.
The expansion was highlighted by Startup Garage’s participation in the GITEX Africa Summit, which brought together global tech innovators in Morocco. With a growing portfolio of over 150 startups, Startup Garage is cementing its position as Uzbekistan’s leading platform for entrepreneurship, and its move into Casablanca is designed to foster cross-border collaboration between Central Asia and North Africa. The venture studio aims to open new pathways for Uzbek startups to explore the broader African and Middle Eastern markets.
“We are excited to extend our reach into North Africa, creating a bridge between the innovative tech ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Morocco,” said Muhammad Khalil, Founder of Startup Garage. “The demand for technology solutions is growing globally, and we believe that cross-collaboration with our colleagues in North Africa will create immense value for both regions.”
Startup Garage’s expansion into Casablanca is also aligned with Uzbekistan’s broader ambitions of becoming a regional tech hub. The Uzbek government has been increasing its support for digital transformation, and initiatives like Startup Garage’s international outreach contribute to the country’s efforts to cultivate globally competitive startups.
“We are proud to support this ambitious expansion. Startup Garage has already proven its ability to nurture high-potential startups, and we are confident that its new Casablanca studio will serve as a launchpad for many more innovative projects,” Sukhrob Gaybulloev, Managing Partner at AloqaVentures, the main backer of Startup Garage, expressed his enthusiasm for the venture.
In its new venture studio in Morocco, Startup Garage will provide startups with the necessary resources, mentorship, and access to capital. With a focus on nurturing innovation, the studio will play an integral role in fostering regional and international partnerships and investments.
Startup Garage, established to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem across Uzbekistan’s 14 regions, the company has helped launch numerous successful ventures.
