This milestone is the result of ongoing reforms and strategic efforts to revitalize Uzbekistan’s tourism industry. The government’s commitment to an open-door policy and enhanced international cooperation has played a crucial role in attracting more visitors.

Presidential decrees and resolutions have prioritized tourism as a key economic sector, encouraging foreign investment and improving infrastructure.

Expanded visa-free travel regimes for dozens of countries and Uzbekistan’s active participation in global tourism exhibitions and forums have further boosted international interest.

These initiatives have contributed to a more accessible and welcoming environment for travelers from around the world.

Looking ahead, Uzbekistan plans to continue developing its tourism sector by expanding high-quality services that meet international standards.

The government also aims to promote ecological and sustainable tourism as a core part of its long-term strategy, positioning the country as a competitive and responsible destination in the global tourism market.

In 2M25, Uzbekistan recorded 1.33mn foreign tourist arrivals — a 37% increase from the same period in 2024 and a 52.8% jump compared to 2023.

In a step to improve tourist rights and safety, Uzbekistan recently joined the International Code for the Protection of Tourists (ICPT), becoming the 26th country to adopt the UN Tourism-backed initiative.
