4.8 magnitude earthquake felt 234km away from Almaty

The network of seismic stations of the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry recorded an earthquake at 06:33 am Astana time on May 12, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The 4.8 magnitude quake struck the territory of Kyrgyzstan, 234km southwest of the Kazakh city of Almaty.

It hit at a depth of 10km.

Earlier it was reported that a 4.2 magnitude earthquake had occurred in Atyrau region on May 11.
