This year, 2,982 people from Tajikistan have won the Green Card lottery, according to the official website of the Diversity Visa (DV) Program.
The Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky, has registered and notified the winners of the DV-2025 Diversity Visa Program.
The lottery program is conducted under the provisions of Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and annually provides up to 55,000 permanent resident visas to individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States.
This year, approximately 131,060 applicants have been registered and notified, and they are now eligible to apply for an immigrant visa.
In Central Asia, Uzbekistan ranks first in the number of lottery winners this year, with 5,564 people selected. In Kyrgyzstan, 3,095 people won the Green Card lottery, Kazakhstan had 2,004 winners, and Turkmenistan — 2,010.
Uzbekistan is also in first place globally in terms of the number of Green Card lottery winners.
Other countries with a high number of winners include Algeria — 5,526 people, Russia — 5,519, Egypt — 5,515, Sudan — 5,505, and Iran — 5,267.
A significant number of winners also came from Afghanistan — 4,009, and Ukraine — 4,002).
