Representatives of the energy company of Tajikistan note a decrease in electricity generation. According to the company «Pamir Energy», in the first three months of this year, more than 71 million kWh worth 27.3 million somoni were supplied to consumers in the region. The figure is 1.4% more in terms of kWh and 1.72% more in monetary terms compared to the same period in 2024, the newspaper «Jumhuriyat» reports.
However, company representatives noted that electricity production at small rural hydroelectric power plants decreased this quarter.
In total, these power plants generated 102 thousand kWh of electricity, which is 24% less than in the same period last year.
«The decrease in electricity generation at hydroelectric power stations is mainly due to the cold season and water shortages», — industry representatives noted.
According to the company, electricity losses also increased during the quarter.
Regionally, the figure was 8.75%, which is 0.15% or 218 thousand kWh more than in the same period in 2024.
The company’s specialists attribute the increase in electricity losses mainly to power overload on high-voltage lines of 35 kV and 110 kV.
During this period, the company’s account received about 23 million somoni as payment for electricity, which is 10.1% more than in the same period in 2024.
Collections from the population increased by almost 8%, from commercial enterprises — by more than 14%, from budgetary institutions — decreased by 1.87%. At the same time, accounts receivable decreased by 5%.
As of the beginning of April, accounts receivable from budgetary enterprises amounted to almost 5 million, commercial organizations owed almost 8 million somoni. The population owes the enterprise more than 2.4 million somoni.
