The National Library of Tajikistan has announced the launch of intensive Korean language courses, organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Dushanbe. The courses, held in a dedicated "Korean Corner" of the library, will run for 2-3 months.
The main objective of the courses is to prepare individuals for participation in South Korea’s Employment Permit System (EPS), as well as to promote cultural and labor exchange between the two countries.
What is the Employment Permit System (EPS)?
Tajikistan recently joined the Korean EPS, an official government program that allows foreign nationals to legally work in South Korea. One of the key requirements for Korean employers, in addition to professional skills, is a basic knowledge of the Korean language. To obtain a work permit, candidates must pass a language proficiency test.
For this reason, the intensive Korean courses at the National Library are particularly beneficial for those planning to work in South Korea.
The Employment Permit System (EPS) in South Korea is a program that allows employers to hire foreign workers, particularly those with low skills, when they cannot find local workers to fill specific positions.
The EPS allows foreign workers to legally work in South Korea for a set period, typically up to three years, with potential for renewal.
