A series of trade negotiations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan took place in Baku on July 1 as part of the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to Azerbaijan. The meetings focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors of the economy.
During the talks, Uzbek officials held discussions with major Azerbaijani companies, resulting in the signing of several agreements.
These covered a range of priority areas including dairy production and processing, the chemical and electrical engineering industries, high-voltage cable manufacturing, housing construction, and the production of building materials.
The agreements mark a step in advancing trade and investment ties between the two countries. They are expected to facilitate the launch of joint projects and enhance industrial collaboration.
On July 2, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for a state visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev. According to the official program, the visit will include the second session of the Supreme Interstate Council and a series of high-level events.
Discussions will focus on further strengthening the friendship, strategic partnership, and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
President Mirziyoyev is also scheduled to participate in the upcoming summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which will take place in the city of Khankendi.
