Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on July 2 during a working visit, holding discussions in both narrow and expanded formats to review and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The leaders exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral issues, including trade, economic cooperation, education, migration, and humanitarian ties. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations, describing the Kyrgyz-Russian partnership as strong and mutually beneficial.

President Putin highlighted the steady growth in trade turnover between the two countries, noting a significant increase in the first half of the year. He pointed to the active role of Russian companies in Kyrgyzstan and reaffirmed Russia’s position as one of the country’s primary economic partners.

He also praised the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, which has supported several key projects contributing to Kyrgyzstan’s economic growth. In the education sector, Putin stressed the ongoing collaboration, mentioning that 200 Russian teachers are currently working in 43 schools across Kyrgyzstan. He confirmed that plans are underway to further expand Russian-language instruction in the country.

Putin thanked Kyrgyzstan for granting the Russian language a special status, calling it a positive step that reinforces bilateral cooperation in both cultural and economic domains.

President Japarov, in turn, emphasized the shared understanding and trust between the two countries, noting the absence of political disagreements. He reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in energy, transport, industry, and agriculture, and praised the role of the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission in facilitating this progress.

Concluding the talks, both leaders confirmed their commitment to further strengthening comprehensive cooperation in all priority sectors.
