Electric bus production planned in Fergana region of Uzbekistan

An agreement has been signed to launch the Lingnan Higher Professional Workshop at Tashkent State Transport University, marking a step in enhancing Uzbekistan’s technical education system. The signing ceremony took place at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Guangzhou.

Consul Rahmon Ernazarov and First Secretary Bakhtiyor Mirzayev attended the ceremony. The initiative is supported by the Guangdong provincial government as part of China’s “Belt and Road initiative, highlighting deepening educational and technological cooperation between the two countries.

The new center will focus on automotive engineering, technical service, and hydrogen technologies. A technical laboratory will also be established in collaboration with major companies including Toyota, BYD, and Chery, providing students with access to cutting-edge industry practices.

The project aims to offer hands-on training and internship opportunities not only for university students but also for those studying at technical schools. For the first phase, $800,000 has been allocated to support the center’s development.

Officials say this initiative could become a model for international collaboration in vocational education, paving the way for a broader transformation of Uzbekistan’s higher technical education landscape.
