Sogd city police revealed details of the murder of a husband by his wife and a girl by her boyfriend

The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Sughd region of Tajikistan revealed the details of two brutal murders committed in the first decade of August. In one case, the husband was killed by his wife, in the other, a young girl was killed by her lover.

The representative of the regional militia Akbar Sharifov in the program "Militsia khabar Media" ("The Militia reports") said that the first crime occurred on August 2 in the village of Navkat in the Spitamensky district: 27-year-old Marifat Ismoilova stabbed her 49-year-old husband Butur Khomidov.

The reason for the murder is called a family conflict.

"My husband was drunk, grabbed me by the throat, threatened to take the child and kill me. In my excitement, I didn't know what to do, and I stabbed my husband once in the left shoulder," says the woman in the program.

The second incident occurred on August 9 in the city of Khujand, the program says.

A 21-year-old girl, a resident of the village council of Amondara in the city of Penjikent, was killed in her rented apartment by a 17-year-old boy.

According to Akbar Sharifov, after a "verbal conflict based on intimate relations," the young man stabbed the girl eight times in the neck and abdomen, as a result of which she died.

"After committing the crime, in order to hide his tracks, he wrapped the body in a blanket, tied it with a cable and hid it under the bed, and then left the scene," the story says.

In the program, both suspects admit their guilt. Criminal cases have been initiated against them under article 104 ("Murder") of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and they are in custody. The opinions of the relatives of the suspects and victims are unknown.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of Sughd region, 10 murders were registered in the northern region of Tajikistan in the first half of 2025. In total, 28 murders and attempted murders were recorded in the republic during this period.
