President Japarov presents car to Uzbek coach seconding to Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek uulu at Paris Games

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on September 11 met with Uzbek coach Akmal Khasanov, who seconded to a Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek uulu at Olympic Games in Paris.

The President presented a car to Khasanov as a sign of gratitude for his contribution to the victory of Munarbek Seyitbek uulu at Paris Olympic Games.

During the meeting, Japarov said that the actions of Khasanov glorified the friendship and unity of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

“The whole world saw that the Central Asian people support each other by demonstrating unity and friendly relations. Sports is called ambassador of peace. By your example, you are contributing to strengthening of a mutual agreement. I wish that our unity was strengthened more,” the head of state said.

The President also praised Uzbek athletes for good results at Paris Games.

According to him, Khasanov made a heroic deed, when a silver medalist of the Olympic Games Munarbek Seyitbek uulu needed a special support.

“Our ancestors as a sign of gratitude gave horses to their heroes. Now we give cars but the two traditions remain the same. It is expression of respect and gratitude for outstanding achievements,” Japarov added.

Khasanov, in his turn, thanked the President and said that he has often met with Munarbek Seyitbek uulu at the gatherings and he thoughtfully agreed to second to him.

Munarbek Seyitbek uulu took 2nd place and won a silver medal, which became the first in the history of Kyrgyz boxing at the Olympic Games.
