Residents of Jany-Achy rural municipality, Kyzyl-Tuu, Suzak district, Jalal-Abad region raised money and laid pavement on 1 km of the street, local Aibek Omorov told Turmush.

A total of 3.2 million som were collected, he said.

Some 180 families raised money depending on their financial possibilities, the local noted.

The fund was created by young residents working in Russia.

The residents of this village have moved to these areas, where landslide previously occurred, Omorov said.

“The road earlier was gravel, which caused difficulties for children and elderly people while walking. We did not wait for the government to do everything and decided to take the initiative themselves,” he added.
