Kyrgyzstan registers 13,400 cases of measles since beginning of 2024
13,400 cases of measles have been registered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of 2024, epidemiologist of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis Aichurok Makilova said.
According to her, the incidence of measles decreased in September 2024. It decreased 4 times compared to September-October 2023.
“There was a high incidence of measles in January, February, March. There was a slight decrease in April. Now we see the effectiveness of vaccination,” she noted.
According to Makilova, the highest incidence was registered in Bishkek, Chui and Osh regions. The incidence is higher in Bishkek and Chui region relative to other regions.
