President of Kyrgyzstan to attend UN Climate Change Conference in Azerbaijan

President Sadyr Japarov will pay a working visit to Azerbaijan on November 11-13 to participate in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Administration Muratbek Azymbakiyev said.

The head of state will take part in the opening ceremony of the Climate Summit in Baku and will speak at the plenary session of the conference on November 12.

Sadyr Japarov, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Nepal Ram Chandra Poudel, as well as heads of other delegations and international organizations will deliver speeches at the High-level Dialogue: Advancing the Mountain Agenda and Mainstreaming the Topic of Mountains and Climate Change, which Kyrgyzstan is organizing jointly with Azerbaijan and Mongolia on November 13.

Bilateral meetings of the head of state are also planned on the sidelines of the UNFCCC COP29.

More than 100 heads of state and government, as well as 150 delegations will take part in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

This year, a national pavilion of Kyrgyzstan will be set up under the theme “Kyrgyzstan: Sustainable Mountain Development” for the first time.

The pavilion will host daily presentations with the participation of ministries and departments of the country on current issues of the climate agenda, energy, trade and economic, tourism and investment potential of Kyrgyzstan, as well as cultural events and exhibitions of national mountain products (honey, dried fruits, national drinks and others).
