The Koshoy-Korgon archaeological and ethnographic museum, located in At-Bashy district of Naryn region, was transferred to the Ministry of Culture.

Public figure Askar Salymbekov transferred this museum to the Ministry of Culture.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture Altynbek Maksutov, cultural workers and representatives of local governments.

Minister Altynbek Maksutov noted that the site is of important historical value.

“585 million soms have been allocated from the Ministry of Culture and the state budget, and restoration work has already begun. We will restore one side of the fortress,” the Minister said.

The Ministry of Culture has developed projects for the restoration of two other historical sites in Kyrgyzstan, Maksutov added.

The museum consists of two main parts. The first is dedicated to the archaeological finds of the Koshoy-Korgon settlement, and the second contains items of nomadic culture.
