Construction of wastewater treatment facility in Balykchy 95% complete

Construction of the centralized wastewater treatment facility in Balykchy is 95% complete, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Medetbek Mametov said.

11,041 consumers have been connected to the central sewerage system, including 10,591 physical persons and 450 legal entities.

The treatment facility is planned to be launched on August 31. Connection of another 3000 physical persons and 2 legal entities is planned upon completion of construction. 

Construction of the central wastewater treatment plant in Karakol started on April 29, 2024 and will be finished in 2025, he said.

7469 physical persons and 450 legal entities were connected to the sewerage system. Upon completion of construction of the facility, another 3748 consumers will be connected. 

The tender was announced for construction of the central wastewater treatment plant in Cholpon-Ata. 8 foreign companies submitted bids. The tender commission is evaluating the bids now. 

2517 consumers have been connected to the wastewater treatment facilities in Cholpon-Ata.

The wastewater facilities is modernized with support of the Asian Development Bank. Upon launch of the new treatment plant, the number of consumers will grow by 6,100 physical persons and 4200 legal entities.
