Kyrgyzstan to pay its athletes 10 million soms for winning Olympic gold, 7 million soms for silver, 5 million soms for bronze
16 athlete are representing Kyrgyzstan in the Olympic Games in Paris.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, winning athletes will be awarded 10 million soms for gold, 7 million soms for silver, and 5 million soms for bronze medal.
Winners of the Tokyo Olympic Games (2021) were promised 10 million soms for gold, 7.5 million soms for silver and 5 million soms for bronze; the head coach – an amount equal to 30% of the athlete’s monetary remuneration, and the senior and personal coach – 25% of the athlete’s monetary remuneration. The medalists were also guaranteed two apartments and a Toyota car.
In Tokyo Olympics, wrestlers Aisuluu Tynybekova and Akzhol Makhmudov won silver medals, and Meerim Zhumanazarova won bronze.
In Rio 2016, Kyrgyzstanis did not claim any medal.
