The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic allocated 4 billion soms for the construction of the priority infrastructure of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 on the Naryn River. This was announced by the director of OJSC «Electric Stations» Salavat Sadyrakunov.
According to him, at the first stage, work is underway on a transport tunnel with a length of 1,388 meters, which began in Soviet times, but was unfinished.
«Last year, on August 31, we completed the excavation of 126 linear meters of the tunnel. Work is currently underway to concret its floor», he said.
Sadyrakunov noted that in accordance with the plan, the construction of a highway from the Bishkek—Osh highway to the site of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 is underway.
«The construction of the road is divided into two stages. The first section, 5.6 km long, is already 4.9 km ready. The second section — from the slot №2 to the hydroelectric power station site — includes concrete work at 2.9 km», he said.
In addition, construction of a 110/6 kV power transmission line is underway.
«The length of the line is 11.5 km. We have already built 6.9 km and installed 23 metal supports out of 25 planned», — said the director.
Sadyrakunov said that a bridge is being built to transport large cargo across the Naryn River. The length of the bridge will be 180 meters and the width — 8 meters.
The director also said that construction of a rotational camp is underway.
«Today we are pouring the foundation», — he explained.
According to him, the feasibility study for the construction project of Kambarata HPP-1, developed by the Canadian company SNC-Lavalin in 2014, has lost its relevance.
«Currently, with the help of the World Bank, which has allocated $18.6 million, the feasibility study is being updated. The work is being carried out by the Swiss company Eifri. They are already working on choosing the type of dam», he said.
According to him, the implementation of priority tasks will make it possible to begin the main construction work at Kambar-Ata HPP-1.
