Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs discuss regional security issues
Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev today received EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, the Foreign Ministry said.
They discussed strengthening of political, economic and cultural cooperation between the European Union and the Kyrgyz Republic, reviewed progress of implementation of the roadmap for strengthening of ties between the European Union and Central Asia.
Regional security, climate change and support of regional development initiatives were considered among other issues.
Foreign Minister Kulubaev said regular contacts reflect common strive for expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation. He added that Kyrgyzstan needs European technologies and investments for implementation of major projects in such spheres as transport, hydropower, critical minerals, etc.
Josep Borrell emphasized the signed Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. He said the European Union is interested in strengthening of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all spheres of mutual interest – economy, trade, sustainable development and human rights.
