Kyrgyzstan, China preparing for soonest launch of Bedel border crossing point

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev and Vice Chair of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China Sun Hongmei discussed preparation for opening of Bedel checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border, the Cabinet’s press service reported.

The parties took a note of a positive dynamics in construction of the checkpoint and Barskoon-Uchturfan-Aksuu road.

The progress of construction of infrastructure facilities was reviewed.

During the state visit of President Sadyr Japarov to China in May 2023, the agreement was reached with Chinese President Xi Jinping on opening of Bedel checkpoint. Its opening is planned in the nearest time.
