At the end of January, a thermal imaging inspection of equipment was carried out at a cascade of small hydroelectric power stations, including the Bystrovskaya and Bala-Saruu hydroelectric power stations, which are part of OJSC «Chakan HPP». This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the department, such inspections are carried out annually in the autumn-winter period at night to identify potential malfunctions and prevent emergency situations. The purpose of the survey is to ensure stable and reliable operation of hydroelectric power plants.
Thermal imaging analysis makes it possible to identify areas with elevated temperatures at electrical components that are under high load. Overheating indicates possible contact defects that require elimination as part of routine repairs.
The survey results are recorded in a special journal and will be used to plan repair work in 2025.
