Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Switzerland Omar Sultanov met with Director General of Rhatische Bahn AG Renato Fasciati on February 19, the Permanent Mission of Kyrgyzstan to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva reported.

The parties discussed the prospects for exchanging experience, as well as visits from Kyrgyzstan to study the Swiss experience of building railways in the mountains.

“The Swiss company demonstrated its experience in the construction and operation of railways in mountainous conditions, including tunnels and bridges, as can be seen from the example of the Chur-Arosa line” the report says.

Rhatische Bahn AG is the largest private railway in Switzerland. The number of its passengers reached 12 million people in 2024. The total length of the company’s railways is 385 km. It operates 9 lines covering the entire south-eastern part of Switzerland, including world-famous resorts such as Davos and St. Maurice.
