In the Osh region, a capsule was laid for the construction of four new hydroelectric power stations

A new hydropower project has been launched in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region of Kyrgyzstan. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev laid a capsule for the construction of four small hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 9 MW.

New facilities — Kurshab-1 hydroelectric power station, Kurshab-2 hydroelectric power station, Kurshab-3 hydroelectric power station and Kurshab-4 hydroelectric power station — will be located in the Yntymak rural district. The project will be implemented by LLC «MGM-group». At the same time, construction began on a distribution substation and a modern concrete production plant.

«Small hydropower plants — is an environmentally friendly and sustainable source of energy. Work on the repair of the At-Bashinskaya HPP, the second and fourth units of the Toktogul HPP has already been completed, and the second unit of the Kambar-Ata HPP-2 and the Uch-Kurgan HPP is being modernized. About 50 small hydroelectric power stations were commissioned. Construction of Kambarata HPP-1 with a capacity of 1860 MW has begun, and relevant agreements have been signed. Thanks to the construction of Kambarata HPP-1, we will achieve energy independence and will be able to export electricity», — said Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The total cost of building small hydroelectric power stations and a substation in the Kara-Suu region is 870 million soms. The project is fully financed by private investors.
