At the moment, builders have moved on to one of the key stages: reinforcement and concreting of the diversion tunnel. Previously, its excavation to the full length of 928 meters was successfully completed. This tunnel will become the main water artery of the station, through which water from the Orto-Tokoy reservoir will be directed to the turbines. In parallel, high-precision installation work is underway to install and assemble spiral chambers of hydraulic units — units responsible for converting the energy of water flow into electricity.

A significant amount of preparatory and major work has already been completed, which has created the foundation for the successful continuation of construction. The town is fully equipped for builders, the necessary infrastructure has been created, including warehouses, mortar and concrete units and power supply systems. To ensure logistics and security, temporary and permanent access roads have been laid to all construction sites. The installation of the most important components of hydraulic units was also carried out and a gantry crane with a lifting capacity of 10 tons was installed, which is used for the installation of water intake equipment.

The planned capacity of the Orto-Tokoy hydroelectric power station will be 21 MW. After commissioning, the station will be able to provide electricity to more than 14 thousand subscribers in the city of Balykchy.
