After the creation of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the reconstruction of the Kyzylorda hydroelectric complex resumed. To ensure high-quality operation of the facility, damaged parts of the hydraulic unit were repaired and other problems were eliminated.

The ministry’s press service notes that the hydroelectric complex is designed to irrigate about 120 thousand hectares of land on the left and right banks of the Syr Darya River and moisten about 2 million hectares of desert area.

«The issue of completion of protracted or suspended projects is under the close control of the Ministry. For example, for the first time in 36 years, the Aktobe reservoir was reconstructed. And in the West Kazakhstan region, the Kirov reservoir was repaired for the first time in 58 years. Active work is also underway to complete the construction of the Eskulinsky, Talapsky, Presnovsky and Sokolovsky group water pipelines. These projects are aimed at providing citizens with quality water. Therefore, it is important to complete them and put the facilities into operation», – said the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
