The Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Almaty Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a large-scale inspection of the field of water resources management in the region. As a result, 8 reservoirs and property worth 20 billion tenge were returned to the state, reports the press service of the Almaty Region Prosecutor’s Office.
Thus, the environmental prosecutor’s office of the Almaty region identified violations on the part of trustees who ignored contractual obligations to maintain the proper technical condition of eight reservoirs, in particular, did not conduct an inspection of water management systems and structures.
«These circumstances could lead to irreversible consequences both for the life and health of the population and the environment», — noted the environmental prosecutor’s office of the Almaty region.
It is also reported that 8 contracts with unscrupulous managers have now been terminated, and property has been returned to state ownership in the amount of more than 20 billion tenge.
According to the act of prosecutorial supervision, authorized bodies are carrying out work on a multifactorial technical inspection of water bodies.
