In recent years, the Islamic Emirate is carrying out a significant number of transportation projects to improve the infrastructure in Afghanistan, such as $264mn worth of Kandahar-Herat railway, covering a distance of 737 kilometers in the country’s west. Transportation plays a crucial role in Afghanistan’s economic development as the country is a transit route for trade between the Northern and Southern Asia.
