The meeting took place at the “Bogi Milli Vahdat” (National Unity Park) in Tajikistan’s Sughd region, where both sides discussed ensuring the continuity of joint agricultural projects and advancing sector-wide development. The ministers emphasized the importance of building on existing initiatives through mutual trust and collaboration.

A key focus of the visit was the “Friendship Gardens” — a 70-hectare area within the National Unity Park designated as a platform for scientific exchange and practical collaboration. The gardens serve as a joint space where researchers from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan work together to cultivate crop varieties using modern agrotechnical methods.

Uzbek farmers are successfully growing a variety of peaches across 9.5 hectares, alongside other fruits, vegetables, and melons. New viticulture practices are also being introduced.

During the talks, both ministers acknowledged the success of these collaborative efforts and discussed the potential to scale such models to larger regions. They also proposed new investment projects and agreed on introducing innovative approaches to agriculture, particularly in grain and horticultural production.

Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Ziyozoda Sulaimon Rizoi also attended the meeting and praised the expanding cooperation between the two nations. He reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to further deepening agricultural ties and highlighted the role of friendship in driving shared progress.

Minister Abdurakhmonov proposed deploying advanced technologies in grain and fruit cultivation, strengthening mutual expertise, and enhancing export-import capacity between the two countries.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to prioritize joint initiatives in grain growing, horticulture, and viticulture, while also launching training programs to improve specialist skills and expand regional agricultural cooperation.
