On April 24, the Academy of Public Administration of Tajikistan hosted the international conference entitled "80 Years of the Great Victory.  We Remember. We Honor. We Are Proud."

The event, dedicated to the anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and officials from the victorious countries and other friendly nations, as well as scholars, cultural figures, and journalists.

The conference was organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Friendship and Cooperation Center.

The event began with a moment of silence in memory of the fallen heroes of the front and the rear, who gave their lives for the common victory.

Following that, heads of diplomatic missions from Russia, China, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Palestine delivered speeches. In their remarks, they emphasized the significance of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 as a symbol of courage, solidarity among peoples, and the preservation of historical memory.

In conclusion, the participants were addressed by the chairman of the advisory council of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan, Professor Rashid Alimov.  He noted that the significance of the Great Victory goes beyond the historical context and remains an important reminder of the price of peace and unity.

As part of the cultural program, students from the branch of Moscow State University in Dushanbe performed for the conference participants.  Guests were also presented with a photo exhibition titled "In the Fight Against Nazism, We Were Together," prepared by the Rossotrudnichestvo’s representation in Tajikistan.
