Central Asian migrants were reportedly subjected to mistreatment during a raid on a Ministry of Defense facility in Moscow, according to the Telegram channel Baza.

The operation was carried out by OMON (Special Purpose Mobile Unit) officers who arrived at a dormitory in the Strogino district to check the documents of migrant workers.  According to Baza, "the officers forcibly removed men from their rooms and used kicks and slaps to hurry those who were slow to comply."

As a result of the raid, 5-6 individuals were detained for having issues with their documents.  They were taken to a police station for further processing.

The Uzbekistani Agency for External Labor Migration's representation in Russia responded to the incident, as reported by daryo.uz.  

The agency reportedly issued a statement noting that on June 8, during the raids, OMON officers used physical force against foreign nationals temporarily working in Russia, which sparked widespread discussion on social media.

The statement further explained that the Uzbek diplomatic mission in Moscow and the Agency's representative office in Russia are closely monitoring the situation.  The Uzbek authorities are awaiting an official report from Russian law enforcement agencies.

The embassy encouraged any Uzbek nationals who may have been harmed, including those injured or whose rights were violated, to contact the Agency's representative office for assistance.

At the time of writing, there has been no official response from Tajikistan regarding the incident.
