In Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the country, about 324 thousand tons of fruits and grapes were harvested at the end of the first decade of August. Fruit production in Tajikistan increased by 32.4%, adding 73 thousand tons, compared to the same period last year. Grape production also showed an impressive 38.2% increase.

In general, the crop production sector has shown a 9% increase in production this year, reaching 15.9 billion somoni.

It should be noted that in the first half of 2024, 225 thousand tons of fruits were harvested in Tajikistan, of which 19.5 thousand tons were apples, and 145.9 thousand tons were apricots. Grapes in the first half of 2024 were harvested in the amount of 2.7 thousand tons, which is significantly less than in 7 months of 2025.

It is expected that in 2025, grape production will increase to 221 thousand tons, and fruit production to 726 thousand tons. In the long term, further production growth is projected: in 2026, it is planned to harvest 926 thousand tons of fruits and 375 thousand tons of grapes, in 2027 – 1 million tons of fruits and 425 thousand tons of grapes, and in 2028 – 1,085 million tons of fruits and 477 thousand tons of grapes.

How much does the fruit cost?

The cost of fruits in Tajikistan depends on the region, so we will indicate the price range and average prices. In the first decade of August, grapes cost from 4.40 to 20.40 somoni, the average price was 10.86 somoni. The cost of pears varies from 8.40 to 35.00 somoni, with an average price of 16.58 somoni.

Figs can be purchased at prices from 10.40 to 34.20 somoni, the average cost is 22.27 somoni. Peaches cost from 5.60 to 20.33 somoni, the average price is 11.39 somoni. Apples cost from 5.00 to 12.33 somoni, with an average of 7.75 somoni.

This summer, fruit prices in Tajikistan increased by 8%, reflecting the general trend of rising food prices. Among fruits, the most significant increase was recorded for lemons, which rose in price by 14.2%. There is also an increase in prices for apples – by 2.2% and grapes – by 38.2%.

Since the beginning of August, there has also been an increase in prices for lemons (14.2%), apples (2.2%) and grapes (0.4%). As for grapes, their cost increased by 60.2% in Khatlon region, and 47.6% in Sughd region, reflecting the trend of rising prices in various regions.
