During the meeting, both parties reviewed the progress of current projects and identified key sectors for future collaboration. The Chinese delegation expressed its appreciation for Uzbekistan’s support in the successful establishment of Exim Bank’s first regional office in Tashkent, which serves as a hub for the bank’s activities in eight countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia.

The discussion also focused on prospective projects in critical sectors such as water management, telecommunications, hydropower, and transport. A significant outcome of the meeting was the agreement on the financial support for production projects in Uzbekistan, particularly in industries with high demand across the country’s economy. The bank will provide assistance on a non-sovereign basis, which will enable the development of new industrial initiatives.

To date, Exim Bank of China has financed 51 projects in Uzbekistan, with a total value exceeding $3bn. These projects span various sectors, including chemicals, energy, transport, information technologies, agriculture, and water management, as well as initiatives supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
