Uzbekistan’s ISCAD to build four agricultural machinery testing tracks

The International Strategic Center for Agri-Food Development (ISCAD) has announced the construction of four new tracks designed for testing agricultural machinery based on international standards.

The initiative involves collaboration with the Turkish firm Asya Ekonomi Yatırım Danışmanlığı Tarım ve Orman Ürünleri İnşaat Turizm Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi, the Center for Certification and Testing of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies, and project staff responsible for overseeing the construction.

Track Details:

  1. Artificial Flat Concrete Track: Measuring 400 meters in length and 4.0 meters in width, this track will adhere to ISO 789-9 standards. It will be equipped with a data collection system to assess various parameters such as traction power, noise levels, speed, fuel consumption, work efficiency, and wheel slippage.
  2. Two-Lane Track: This track will feature a rough surface spanning 35 meters and a smooth surface extending 100 meters. It will be designed to evaluate the effects of vibrations on operators, in line with ISO 5008:2002 and ISO 8041:2005 standards. The track will help measure the vibration impact on the operator’s body and the machinery’s speed.
  3. Circular Concrete Track: With a 20-meter radius, this track will be used to test trailers up to 29 tons according to ISO 798-9. It will assess the durability of machinery undercarriages, the impact on hydraulic systems, cabin effects, and suspension components at speeds up to 15 km/h.

The construction of these tracks aims to enhance the Center’s ability to meet international accreditation requirements, improve test quality, and ensure compliance with global standards.

The new facilities are said to support more precise and comprehensive testing of agricultural machinery, ultimately contributing to better equipment performance and safety.

The government of Uzbekistan has established ISCAD to bolster the agri-food sector and implement the 2020-2030 Agriculture Development Strategy. Created by Presidential Decree No. PD-58 on December 22, 2021, ISCAD’s goal is to enhance governance and strategic oversight within the sector.

Acting as an analytical think-tank and strategic authority, ISCAD’s role is to ensure the coherence, coordination, and effectiveness of agri-food strategy and policy implementation throughout the entire policy-making process, while also facilitating international cooperation and knowledge exchange.
