Kyrgyzstan topped the list with 422,500 visitors, overtaking Tajikistan (401,300), which had previously led in early 2024. Kazakhstan ranked third with over 199,000 arrivals, followed by Russia (90,600),

Afghanistan (81,800), and Turkmenistan (48,800). Notably, Afghanistan was not even among the top ten source countries last year.

Among non-CIS countries, Türkiye had the highest tourist flow, with 22,500 visitors—exceeding the total recorded in five months of the previous year. Chinese tourism to Uzbekistan has also surged, with 14,000 visitors in the first two months of 2025. India and South Korea followed with 10,300 and 5,290 visitors.

Uzbekistan recently became the 26th country to adopt the International Code for the Protection of Tourists (ICPT), a UN Tourism initiative aimed at safeguarding travelers’ rights and improving legal protections. This move aligns with Uzbekistan’s broader efforts to enhance international tourism standards and visitor safety.

In 2024, Uzbekistan welcomed 8.2mn foreign tourists, up from 6.6mn in 2023. The gender breakdown of last year’s arrivals was nearly equal, with 4.08mn women (49.8%) and 4.10mn men (50.2%).
