SF Airlines, a prominent Chinese cargo carrier, has launched a new cargo service between Lanzhou and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, according to Uzbekistan Airports. The first flight on this new route took place on April 2, with a Boeing 757 aircraft arriving at Tashkent International Airport at 10:40 local time, where it was welcomed with a traditional water arch.
Initially, the flights will operate twice a week, with plans to increase the frequency as demand grows. This move is expected to strengthen cargo links between China and Uzbekistan, supporting the growing trade and logistics sectors in both countries.
The launch comes shortly after the opening of a new cargo terminal at Tashkent Airport on March 20. The terminal features an 8,500-square-meter warehouse complex with an annual cargo handling capacity of 120,000 tons. The facility includes specialized areas for storing temperature-sensitive goods such as plants, live animals, food, and medicines, all monitored by temperature sensors. Additionally, the complex is equipped with modern transport, lifting, and packaging equipment to ensure smooth handling of cargo.
The new terminal also boasts a three-story administrative building, which includes an operating room with an electronic queue system for consignees, as well as a spacious parking area for efficient cargo handling.
SF Airlines, founded in 2005, is part of SF Holding Company Ltd, one of China’s largest logistics groups. With a fleet of 90 aircraft, SF Airlines is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, and is a key player in international cargo transport.
