Uzbekistan conducts nearly 50,000 raids in fuel and energy sector

On July 27, a crucial meeting of the Republican staff on the effective organization and coordination of state control over the use of fuel and energy resources was held. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prosecutor General Shohrukh Aminov and included an official from the Presidential Administration. The discussions focused on the current status of efforts to improve energy efficiency among large consumers and eliminate illegal connections, in accordance with the directives of the head of state.

The meeting emphasized the principle of “Energy security – state security,” as highlighted by the head of state. It was noted that the creation of an energy balance, resource saving, and prevention of theft should be prioritized over merely addressing the consequences of illegal activities. These measures are aimed at ensuring a sustainable and secure energy sector in Uzbekistan.

The activities of regions that failed to ensure legality in the field were scrutinized. Regions that ineffectively organized efforts to expose cases of energy resource theft, recover damages, and address other priority areas were officially warned. Leaders and responsible officials in these regions were informed that they could face disciplinary action if improvements are not made.
