Turkmenistan and U.S. strengthen energy sector collaboration

Turkmenistan and the United States are committed to bolstering their collaboration in the energy sector, utilizing their longstanding partnership as a foundation. The two nations have emphasized the importance of energy issues during discussions, particularly within the framework of the C5+1 diplomatic platform, which aims to foster multilateral engagement in Central Asia.

Beyond energy, the discussions also addressed enhancing cooperation in security matters and developing trade and economic relationships. The Turkmen-American Business Council continues to play a significant role in promoting these economic ties and facilitating business interactions and partnerships.

Furthermore, the potential for educational and scientific exchanges was a topic of conversation, with both parties acknowledging the benefits of established academic exchange programs supported by the U.S. government.

Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held separate discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, focusing on strategic bilateral issues. The C5+1 platform serves as a comprehensive U.S. initiative to engage with Central Asian countries, promoting collaborative efforts across various sectors and enhancing regional stability.
