OTS summit in Kyrgyzstan adopts Turkic World Charter

The 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, culminated in the adoption of the Charter of the Turkic World, alongside the signing of seven key resolutions, according to Akorda.

The event, themed “Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future, and Security for All,” gathered heads of state from member countries and leaders from observer nations.

Among the significant documents signed were the Declaration of the 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which outlined the key outcomes of the meeting, and a Resolution on the Green Vision of the Turkic World, aimed at promoting a united sustainable future for the region. Another important resolution was the decision to declare Bishkek as the OTS Digital Capital for 2025, reflecting the organization’s focus on digital transformation and technological innovation.

A Resolution to Award Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán with the Supreme Order of the Turkic World was also passed, recognizing his contributions to strengthening ties between Hungary and the Turkic nations. Additionally, the Charter of the Turkic World was formally adopted, solidifying the shared goals and values of the organization’s members. The resolution to appoint the OTS Deputy Secretary-General and the Statute on Permanent Representatives further enhanced the organizational structure of the OTS.

Finally, a resolution on the design and use of OTS flags was approved, symbolizing the unity and collective identity of the organization.

The summit reflects the ongoing commitment of OTS member states—Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan—as well as observer states, Turkmenistan and Hungary, to further strengthen their cooperation across various sectors, including digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and regional security.

The OTS, headquartered in Istanbul, Türkiye, continues to serve as a platform for the collective advancement of the Turkic-speaking world.

Earlier, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his address stressed the critical need for unity and collaboration among Turkic countries to address global challenges. Mirziyoyev expressed hope that the Charter of the Turkic World would serve as a solid foundation for strengthening cooperation across various fields. To further promote political unity, he suggested the creation of a Treaty on Strategic Partnership, Eternal Friendship, and Fraternity among Turkic States.
