Kara-Kul local council speaker and member detained by National Security Committee

Suspects in extortion of a 500,000 soms bribe were detained, the State National Security Committee reported.

According to investigation, Kara-Kul local councilor, chairman of the standing committee on budget, economy and finances, through a mediator, Kara-Kul local council speaker, extorted 500,000 soms bribe for inclusion of the purchase of the premises from the former owner of Kapchygai cafe into the town budget for 2024.

The suspects were taken into the remand prison of the National Security Committee.
