The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, held a meeting with Renat Bekturov, Manager of AIFC. During the meeting, Bekturov presented the key outcomes of the AIFC’s activities for the first half of 2024 and outlined plans for the upcoming period.

Since its inception, the AIFC has contributed KZT 115bn ($242.2mn) to the national budget, with KZT 29.8bn ($62.7mn) of this amount accrued in the first half of 2024. The growth in tax revenues is attributed to an increase in the number of AIFC participants and their intensified activities.

Bekturov also updated the president on recent and upcoming initiatives, including the inaugural AIFC Community event held in June and the preparations for the Astana Finance Days 2024, scheduled for September 5-6.

President Tokayev emphasized the importance of further strengthening the efforts of government agencies and financial institutions to leverage the AIFC infrastructure to boost investment in Kazakhstan’s economy. He set forth several tasks to ensure the continued development and success of the center.
