President Tokayev meets German business leaders to boost Kazakhstan-Germany economic ties

Ahead of the Kazakh-German Business Forum, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with prominent German business leaders to discuss the deepening economic ties between Kazakhstan and Germany. During the meeting, Tokayev highlighted the significant presence of leading German companies in Kazakhstan as a testament to both nations’ commitment to enhancing economic cooperation.

Addressing the gathering of business executives, Tokayev praised their firms for being at the cutting edge of innovation and playing pivotal roles in global sustainable development and prosperity. He expressed optimism that the agreements and initiatives signed during the German Chancellor’s visit would solidify the long-term strategic partnership between Astana and Berlin.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also spoke at the event, extending a warm welcome to the business leaders present. The meeting was marked by the attendance of key figures from major German corporations, including Christian Bruch, Chairman of the Board of Management of Siemens Energy AG; Jan-Hendrik Mohr, Chairman of the Board of Management of CLAAS Group; and Niko Warbanoff, Chairman of the Executive Board of DB ECO Group and representative of the Working Group on Central Asia of the VKGE.

Additional notable attendees included Wolfgang Kropp, President of SVEVIND Energy GmbH and Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Saxony; Toralf Haag, Chairman of the Board of Management of Aurubis AG; and Bernd Montag, Chairman of the Board of Management of Siemens Healthineers AG.

The forum also featured Günter Papenburg, Chairman of the Board of Management of GP Günter Papenburg AG; Dennis Schwindt, Chairman of the Board of Management of HMS Bergbau AG; and Christiane Laibach, Member of the Board of Management for International Financing of KfW Bankengruppe. Other key participants were Alexander Knauf, representative of the managing partners of KNAUF Gruppe; Martin-Devid Herrenknecht, Member of the Board of Management of Herrenknecht AG; Philipp Hausmann, CEO of Ernst Klett AG; and Tobias Bartz, CEO of Rhenus SE & Co. KG.

The forum aims to foster stronger economic collaborations and explore new avenues for partnership between Kazakhstan and Germany, underscoring both countries’ dedication to mutual growth and innovation.
